July 22, 2014

The Magellan Group has formalized its commitment to responsible forest management by joining the Global Forest& Trade Network in North America (GFTN), a World Wildlife Fund (WWF) initiative focused on eliminating illegal logging and promoting environmentally and socially responsible forest management.

The company currently is the largest stocking dealer of FSC-certified hardwood decking in the U.S.

The Magellan Group is committed to raising awareness among landowners, forest managers, the construction sector, and the broader public about the environmental and social benefits of FSC.

“We recognize the importance of educating the manufacturing sector and consumers about the positive impact that their wood purchasing decisions can have on forests, and have spent the last twenty years working closely with our forest owners, sawmills, secondary plants, and customers,” says Kevin Magraw, President and managing partner of The Magellan Group.  “We embrace FSC’s principles of responsible forest management, proving that it can be done in today’s highly competitive market,"

 he added.
