Call for Public Input on Final Draft FSC-US Forest Management Standard
The revised FSC-US Forest Management Standard is now available for the final 60-day phase of public consultation. All interested parties are welcome and encouraged to submit comments, which are due by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2009.
One of FSC’s hallmarks is the involvement of stakeholders in standards setting and revision. This final draft, Draft 7, is the result of detailed and diverse stakeholder input received on Draft 6, as well as from field testing, expert consultation and extensive deliberations from the FSC-US Standards Committee and Board of Directors. Your input is vital to the revised U.S. Standard, which lays the foundation for exemplary forest management in the United States.
FSC-US is committed to a consensus-based, inclusive and balanced standards-revision process, and all comments will be carefully considered by the FSC-US Board.
