Since 2012, International Paper has enrolled hundreds of private landowners in its FSC forest management group certificate, known as Certified Forest Management. Now covering more than 500,000 acres, the efforts have helped International Paper achieve a 31 percent increase in certified fiber use since 2010.

Citing demand for certified forest products as a key driver, efforts by International Paper were recently documented in Shop Floor, a blog from the National Association of Manufacturers.

With more than 90 percent of the fiber it uses coming from private landowners, including many small, family owned forests, International Paper increased supply by investing to help landowners and other supply chain companies through the certification process.

We congratulate International Paper for their efforts, which are a model for other companies seeking additional FSC supply.
