Now is the time: Submit to the 10th Annual Design & Build Awards!

FSC is currently accepting applications for the 10th Annual Design & Build with FSC Awards and we encourage design teams, building owners, contractors and others working on building projects with FSC wood to submit your projects for consideration.

Award winning projects demonstrate that wood from responsibly managed forests can meet all design and construction needs. Selection criteria include the amount of FSC-certified wood used, innovation and efforts to advance market transformation.

2013 award winners included the Center for Sustainable Landscapes at the Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, the first project to pursue three rigorous building standards: Living Building Challenge, 4 Stars Sustainable Sites Initiative, and LEED Platinum. The residential Design & Build Award winner was the Desert Rain Home in Bend, Oregon, in which 100% of the wood products are FSC certified or salvaged.

Winners will be announced at the 10th Annual Design & Build with FSC Awards Reception, which will take place during Greenbuild 2014 in New Orleans, October 22-24, 2014. In honor of the 10th Annual Design & Build Awards and FSC’s 20th Anniversary, this is going to be an event you will not want to miss!

This year we're making an extra big splash as it's the 10th year of our Design & Build with FSC awards in addition to FSC's 20th Anniversary. We're working closely with the Green Sports Alliance and partnering with Rita LeBlanc, owner of the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, for our offsite event. The Alliance has been wildly successful at advancing sustainability in professional sports and now represents all seven leagues, over 100 teams and 100 facilities in their efforts. Rita has played a leading role in that organization and is excited to showcase her hometown and teams in connection with Greenbuild, FSC and the Alliance.

We'll also be presenting our first US leadership awards at that event, which aren't confined to green building. Read more about FSC's Leadership Awards here.

All submissions will be listed on the FSC US website and each entering project team will receive complimentary tickets to the awards ceremony. Winning project team members will be presented at the Awards Reception at Greenbuild.

Applications are due Friday, September 5.
