Steps to Apply

Confirm your eligibility

Review the criteria below to ensure your are eligible for a Promotional License. Contact us at trademarks@us.fsc.org if you are unsure about your eligibility.

Gather required documentation and fill out the application

The application form can be found here. The documents required to include with your application are:

  • List of all FSC-certified products that you plan to promote and the respective FSC-certified supplier.
  • Proof that products are FSC certified and labeled in the form of invoices or letters from suppliers.

Sign the Promotional License Agreement

Once your application has be reviewed and approved, FSC US will send you a Promotional License Agreement for signing.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The products are labeled with an FSC on-product label that was placed there by an FSC-certified company.

    Verify your supplier's certification status at search.fsc.org.

  2. The products have been sourced directly from, and invoiced by FSC-certified companies with an FSC-claim.

    This means that there is no company in between the applicant and supplier that takes legal ownership over the product.

  3. The products are included within the scope of each certified company’s CoC certificate.

    You can verify this by looking up the company’s certificate information at search.fsc.org. Search for the company by typing in the company’s FSC license code or name. Then, click on “products” to see products within their certificate scope.

  4. The products will not be repackaged, relabeled, or altered in any way.
