RoyOMartin
Since its beginning in 1923, RoyOMartin has grown into one of the largest independently owned lumber companies in the South. The company owns 570,000 acres of prime southern pine and fine hardwoods throughout Louisiana, made up of tracts that range in size from 20 acres to over 10,000 acres. This natural-resource base supports two state-of-the-art oriented strand board (OSB) and plywood-manufacturing operations in Louisiana.

With high-yield forestry programs started back in the 1950s, RoyOMartin continues to take special pride in timber as a uniquely renewable resource, which is evidenced by its FSC certification.

RoyOMartin and Martin Companies have been FSC certified since 2002, making them among the longest certified forest-management organizations in the southern U.S. Their commitment to responsible forest management allows RoyOMartin to offer every product they manufacture – including OSB, plywood, timbers and siding – as FSC certified, to meet growing demand from green building projects across the United States.

“We view our FSC certification as a testament to RoyOMartin’s long-held practices of responsible forest management and manufacturing. We appreciate the efforts of ourforesters, loggers, and plant personnel in helping us achieve recertification. RoyOMartin is proud to be recognized as a leader in certified timberlandmanagement and deliver a full line of FSC-certified wood products.” – SeniorVice President and COO, Scott Poole

In 2009 Martin was one of the first acoustic guitar manufacturers in the industry to produce a guitar model comprised entirely of FSC-certified woods. The D Mahogany includes a genuine mahogany neck, back and sides, an Alpine spruce soundboard and katalox fingerboard and bridge.

“The guitars we’re building today, I believe, are among the best in our company’s history. When future generations look back at what we’ve done together, my hope is for them to see how much of our great tradition we have sustained, while at the same time, to see how boldly we have moved into the future.” Chris Martin IV, Chairman & CEO
