F.D. Sterritt Lumber
Started in 1841, F.D. Sterritt Lumber has adhered to a strong environmental and social ethic throughout their long history. Guided by the foresight of CEO, Jack Mackin, Sterritt Lumber began selling FSC-certified lumber in 2002 and shortly thereafter, became the first FSC-certified distributor, remanufacturer, and fire/pressure-treater of FSC-certified wood products. They chose to pursue FSC certification because of FSC’s rigorous standards and third-party verification, and because FSC is committed to responsible forest management globally.
Based on continually increasing demand for FSC-certified materials and to help serve their customers on demand, Sterritt maintains an impressive $1 million of FSC-certified lumber at their retail facility at all times. Columbia Forest Products
Founded in 1957, Columbia Forest Products is North America’s largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer products. In 1999, Columbia’s Klamath Falls, Oregon plant began producing its plywood using logs harvested from FSC-certified forestland.
