A World of Wood on the Web: www.certifiedwood.org
In the first five months of existence, the Certification Resource Center (CRC), a searchable online database hosted by the Certified Forest Products Council (CFPC), is growing strong. With over 19,000 hits, it has become a staple for consumers and businesses searching for suppliers of certified products.
Architects have found the site particularly helpful in finding and specifying product. Academics and organizations have been successful researching the amount of FSC-certified acres around the world. The database also displays how much land each certifier has brought into the system, giving a good picture of who is doing work in what parts of the world. Essentially, there is something for everyone onwww.certifiedwood.org, from architects to landowners to retail stores to academics.
“We have received positive feedback from every facet of the industry that we were trying to target. Our goal is to continue spreading the word of FSC-certification throughout the industry," says Sue Hulme, Certification Database Manager.

I work in one of the Workplace Studios at Gensler, and I think your Certified Resource Center website will be a valuable tool, particularly for those of us working in interiors. The 5 search methods, the specific product divisions, links to manufacturers and an expandable product listing are very comprehensive, and yet their organization allows for easy and quick navigation. I look forward to the website's launch and using it to research the best products/methods on the market for wood specification.
