Use your voice: Vote on P&C revisions by Jan. 31

The Principles & Criteria are at the core of FSC’s standard for responsible forest management. First published in 1994, no comprehensive review or revision of the entire document had taken place until this current one began in January 2009.

After a robust multi-stakeholder process, including three revision drafts, three rounds of public consultation and several international stakeholder meetings, the revised Principles & Criteria are now ready for the vote by the FSC membership.

This is the most significant and far-reaching decision to be made by the FSC membership in 2012, shaping FSC certification for years to come.

And right now, we have not reached quorum. So every vote matters.

If you are an FSC member and have not voted, please vote by using the unique voting code that was emailed to you by FSC’s Executive Director, Andre de Freitas.

To learn more about the revised Principles & Criteria, you can visit the website created to support the revision process.

The deadline for voting is January 31, 2012. So if you have not already done so, please vote today!

If you have any questions, please contact Karen Steer (k.steer@fsc.org), policy manager at FSC International Center.

Thank you.
