Fraser Papers Receives FSC Certification for 100% Post-Consumer Products

One of North America's Largest Producers of Specialized Paper Products Can Now Apply the FSC Recycled Logo

Select products of the Premium Printing Papers division of Fraser Papers have been awarded FSC chain-of-custody (COC) certification for paper containing 100% post-consumer fiber. Post-consumer waste (PCW) paper is defined as paper which has been used in its’ target consumer application and returned as waste. PCW paper includes printed or otherwise used office paper, and excludes manufacturing waste products such as envelope clippings from envelope production. Scientific Certification Systems issued the COC certification; it covers paper products manufactured and converted at Fraser Papers’ facilities in Park Falls, WI and West Chicago, IL.

The specific products that carry the FSC certification include Synergy White 100PCW and Natural 100PCW. They are elemental chlorine free, and available as 24 lb Writing; 50, 70, 80 and 100 lb Text; 80 lb Cover and 110 lb Cover Double-Thick, in standard cut-size or folio sizes.

Synergy 100PCW is designed to meet the needs of a growing customer base that is becoming more interested in environmentally conscious papers. The target market for Synergy 100PCW is the corporate client that is choosing more socially responsible paper products for their communication needs. “FSC certification in our paper products is a feature that is increasingly being requested by our customers, including merchants, designers and printers,” states Glen Payton, Product Manager for the Premium Printing Papers division of Fraser Papers. “These products and our newly-certified manufacturing process satisfies that growing need,” he adds.

Says Dan Steinke, General Manager for Premium Printing Papers at Fraser, “Synergy 100PCW provides the graphic designer a platform from which their clients can demonstrate to their target audience in a subtle, yet powerful way of their interest in preserving the environment. The mere use of this paper can communicate to their audience that they are a socially responsible company taking real steps to minimize the impact of their corporate activities on the natural world.”

Synergy White 100PCW and Natural 100PCW are featured in their own swatchbook and desktop scratchpad, both of which are available from Fraser Papers.
