FSC Celebrates 10 Years of Improving Forest Management

In 1993, a group of innovative, enthusiastic people came together with the aim of promoting responsible forestry worldwide.

From this meeting, the Forest Stewardship Council has grown to become a global organization improving forest practices in 73 countries. Now it is time to celebrate this milestone and discuss strategy for the next 10 years.

FSC International Center has announced the FSC 10th Anniversary Conference, to be held from September 10, 2004 to Sunday, September 12, 2004 at the FSC International Center in Bonn, Germany. Representatives from National Initiatives and FSC members from around the globe will be in attendance.

The opening anniversary celebration will be held on Friday, September 10, 2004 and will be followed by a garden party in the evening. On Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12, the FSC Annual Conference will continue discussions on the next decade in FSC’s development.

Over the past 10 years, FSC has linked people and interests around the world providing solutions that promote the social, environmental and economic values of responsible forestry. At this time of celebration we unite all of our interests and voices to strengthen FSC’s vision for the future.
