With the sailing world's most important racing series underway, people from around the world are focused on San Francisco to see whether Oracle Team USA can defend the America's Cup against challenger Emirates Team New Zealand.

First contested in 1851, the America's Cup is the oldest trophy in international sport, pre-dating the modern Olympics by 45 years.

And with many millions of people watching, the America's Cup organizers committed to a strong suite of sustainability goals, including a preference for forest products that contain verified post consumer recycled content and are FSC certified for event activities in San Francisco.

The Forest Stewardship Council applauds the America's Cup Event Authority and America's Cup Race Management for their commitment to responsible forest management, as well as to a broad range of other environmental and social outcomes.
