Greenbuild and LEED v4
During a rousing opening plenary session at Greenbuild, US Green Building Council president and CEO Rick Fedrizzi rallied the audience of thousands with a mantra, “We Are Right."
Specifically addressing special interests opposing high standards in the Materials and Resources section, he noted, “We are right because our movement is about improving lives and building a better, safer and healthier world one building and one community at a time.” We could not agree more, and we would add one additional note: People who live and work in and around forests deserve the same health protections as people who live and work in LEED certified buildings.

As part of our Greenbuild presence, FSC developed a short overview of our position on LEED v4, highlighting key characteristics of a leadership standard (below).
In the coming days, we will issue a more-detailed statement about LEED v4, to support partners who wish to comment on the fifth draft before the public comment period closes on December 10th.
