Corey joined the Forest Stewardship Council US in 2007 and serves as chief executive officer of the largest national office of the FSC global network. Corey brings 25 years of experience and commitment to sustainable development. He has served in both technical and managerial capacities in such diverse fields as green building, renewable energy, industrial ecology and hazardous waste remediation. Prior to joining FSC, Corey served as Executive Director of Minnesota-based Green Institute, a regional leader in green building. Corey is a graduate of Dartmouth College and earned his M.B.A. at the University of Michigan.
Chief Marketing Officer
Chris leads Forest Stewardship Council US’s marketing and business development efforts, having helped corporations make the most of sales and marketing opportunities and challenges for more than 20 years. Prior to joining FSC, Chris led U.S. marketing and sales at Aimia, a leading global loyalty marketing solutions provider; at Wunderman, a WPP agency, providing strategic services to Best Buy and Coca-Cola; at Gage, serving Fortune 500 clients including Microsoft, Walmart, Dell, and 3M; and at Target, providing marketing strategy and management consulting services. Chris holds Bachelor’s Degrees in English and Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
Director of Science and Certification
Amy joined the Forest Stewardship Council US in 2016 as the Director of Science and Certification. In this role she leads the FSC team dedicated to development and application of FSC policies and standards in the United States, including the FSC US Forest Management Standard and FSC Controlled Wood US National Risk Assessment. Amy spent much of the previous 19 years collaborating with government and non-government partners to develop and implement landscape-scale conservation and management plans within managed forests. Prior to joining FSC, Amy served as Biodiversity and Conservation Program Leader for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ (MDNR) Forest Resources Division, where one of her primary responsibilities was working to ensure that the MDNR maintained FSC forest management certification for 4 Million acres of state-administered forest lands. Amy is a graduate of Amherst College and earned her M.S. in Wildlife Science at the University of Washington-Seattle’s College of Forest Resources.

Bryce Denton joined the Forest Stewardship Council US as Director of Finance in 2008, where he oversees organizational finance. From the monthly reporting and forecasting to the annual audit and compliance, Bryce helps ensure that FSC-US’ finances are in order for both current and future donors. For the past 10 years Bryce has worked with nonprofits in both the public and private accounting sector. He has a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A from Dominican University.

Brad Kahn joined Forest Stewardship Council US as communications director in 2010, where he manages organizational communications and outreach. From the media relations and policy translation to Greenbuild and partnership with the Green Sports Alliance, Brad helps shape FSC-US’ message and strategies to reach a wide array of audiences. For the past 16 years Brad has worked in communications, serving nonprofit organizations focused on environmental issues. He has a Master’s degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a B.A. in economics from Brown
Policy & Standards Manager
Jenny joined the Forest Stewardship Council US in 2012. Her responsibilities include managing the trademark program, the Lake States regional network, the family forests program and other policy and standards issues. Prior to joining FSC US, she held positions with Conservation Corps Minnesota, the US Forest Service and the Minnesota State Senate. Jenny is a native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and has always been passionate about the outdoors. She is excited to bring that enthusiasm to FSC US. She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a B.A. in Economics and an M.S. in Natural Resources Management with a focus on policies relating to family forest owners.
Karina Carlson joined Forest Stewardship Council US as Marketing Manager in 2018. She previously worked in nonprofit higher education, dedicating 8+ years to communications and digital marketing. She received an M.A. from the the University of Minnesota’s Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors, singing in local choirs, and gardening.
Policy & Standards Manager

As the Chain of Custody Manager for the FSC US office, Lori Knosalla educates companies about Chain-of-Custody standards and works with Certificate Holders to apply these standards to their business operations. Lori brings with her five years of experience in the forestry sector. Prior to FSC, Lori worked for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry and as a forest contractor. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota in Natural Resource Management and Forest Resources.
Lauren joined the Forest Stewardship Council US team as Program Manager in 2016. She manages the FSC US-based membership program, events, and operations, supports communications & marketing initiatives, and serves as liaison to the Board of Directors. She brings ten years of experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing projects with nonprofit and government organizations. Lauren holds an M.A. in Sustainable International Development and a B.A. in International Studies, focused on achieving sustainability through participatory planning and accountability for social, economic, and environmental impacts.
Program Assistant Intern
Maggie Abel is working for FSC US as an Intern. Her responsibilities include assisting with the planning and management of Controlled Wood regional meetings, and aiding in marketing and business development efforts. Maggie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Marketing and a Certificate in Digital Studies. As a Minnesota native, she's spent much of her time outdoors and is excited to be a part of the team.
