FSC Headquarters Announces Group COC Certification Policy
This month FSC headquarters announced a new policy to facilitate chain-of-custody certification for groups of small wood harvesting, processing, and retail operators. The new policy retains the rigor of individual-facility COC assessment, but provides for the sharing of many of the administrative aspects of certification, such as reporting and liaison with the certification body, by an organized group of small enterprises. read more …

First Set of Regional Standards Earns Final Approval
The final stage before any set of regional standards is complete is a rigorous review by the FSC International Board of Directors. Regional standards for British Columbia nearing completion
The public comment period for the second draft of the British Columbia regional standards was recently completed, leaving only the completion of the final draft and endorsement by FSC International before the province has its own set of internationally recognized standards for responsible forestry. read more …
