Domtar Addresses Anti-Deforestation Pledges and FSC

Leading up to the UN Conference of the Parties (COP) 20 in Lima, Peru, there was a heightened public dialogue surrounding global deforestation, placing a spotlight on the future of our planet’s forests.
While Domtar recognizes that recent anti-deforestation pledges are a positive step forward for companies beginning to assess their environmental impact, they also believe this is just a first step.
In a recent report, The Future of Our Forests, the company outlines the main drivers of deforestation, why zero net deforestation pledges are only a first step at solving the problem, and why “Domtar believes that FSC certification is the best way to ensure that our forests will remain intact forever.”
