FSC Product Classification Comment Period
FSC’s Policy and Standards Unit (PSU) is currently revising the FSC Product Classification list.
After one formal comment period, comments received were analyzed and incorporated into a new draft. According to PSU, some comments were not accepted for the following reasons:
Product nomenclatures were not widely recognized in the international market.Product classifications were not short enough or representative of forest products in the market.PSU is proposing to eliminate Product Class and Product Sub-type categories in order to reduce the number of terminologies.[/list]
Since the new version contains significant changes, PSU decided to provide a second opportunity for stakeholders to comment. See the draft standard with tracked changes activated.
