New Chief Marketing Officer Chris McLaren

On August 1st, Chris McLaren joined FSC U.S. as its Chief Marketing Officer, leading our marketing and business development efforts in the United States.
Chris joins the FSC team having helped corporations make the most of sales and marketing opportunities and overcome challenges for more than 20 years.
In his most recent prior role as VP Marketing and Sales at Aimia, a Canadian-based global leader in customer loyalty management, Chris ensured Aimia’s story was well told, managed the U.S. marketing practice, and contributed to strategy, operations, and account management for Aimia’s U.S. clients.
Prior to joining Aimia, Chris directed marketing strategy at Wunderman Minneapolis (a WPP agency), working with Coca-Cola and Best Buy to evolve relationship- and data-driven marketing capabilities. He also led the Emerging Media and Strategy practice at Gage Marketing Group, where he worked with Fortune 500 clients including Microsoft, Walmart, Dell, BMW Europe, and 3M to employ social, mobile, and other emerging media to accomplish client business goals. Prior to Gage, Chris was a business consultant at Target, where he developed systems to manage a multimillion-dollar marketing technology portfolio. He also previously led marketing at FICO, an $800M global decision management company. Chris holds Bachelor’s Degrees in English and Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
As an environmentally conscious consumer, for decades Chris has monitored efforts to tackle global environmental challenges with a mix of hope and skepticism, always seeking practical ways to contribute. Given FSC’s reputation as the gold standard in forest management, Chris is thrilled at the opportunity to help drive the organization’s U.S. growth, live his values, and do meaningful work.
Chris has long found peace and enjoyment in the outdoors and enjoys running, cross-country skiing, tennis, hiking, camping, sailing, soccer (a.k.a. football!), and fishing. He is married to Christine and is the father of twin 12-year-old daughters Chloe and Carmen.
