FSC's Greenbuild Booth, 2014

Greenbuild Booth, 2013

July 22, 2014

As Greenbuild 2014 approaches, FSC US is getting ready to celebrate our 20th Anniversary, the 10th Annual Design& Build Awards, and first ever Leadership Awards. Appropriately, we are making the party in New Orleans our biggest and best ever. Stay tuned for more on that in the coming months.

In partnership with Louisiana’s Chapter of the US Green Building Council, FSC hosted a competition this spring for architecture and design students in Louisiana to submit designs for FSC’s booth at Greenbuild. The booth will be located at the front of the Wood Pavilion in the Expo Hall, providing the winning student team with prime floor space to showcase their design. The competition required students to submit a design for the booth that utilized FSC-certified forest products that could be sourced in or near Louisiana, could be easily assembled, and reused.

We received many creative and unique submissions, making the ultimate choice of designs a difficult one. We sincerely appreciate all of the time and effort that students and their mentors put into the design process.

Of course, we can only build one design this year at Greenbuild. We are very pleased to announce our winners, Alayna Fritz and Lonnie Bennett from Louisiana Tech University, with mentorship from Professor Kevin Singh.

The students will have the opportunity to work with TLC Engineering in New Orleans to finalize their drawings and specs this summer and will to see their booth live on the expo floor in October! Congratulations Alayna and Lonnie!

For all of you who can’t wait to see what Alayna and Lonnie’s FSC booth looks like, don’t miss it (and them) at Greenbuild!
