Consider FSC at the year's end
Dear FSC Stakeholders:
It’s hard to believe another year is coming to a close, at least until I reflect back on the work and accomplishments across the system in 2011. Regional efforts in the Southeast, Lake States and Pacific Northwest, the General Assembly in Kota Kinabalu, major new FSC commitments from businesses such as Kimberly Clark and The Home Depot, group certifications and the family forest program, market research to understand how consumers value FSC, LEED 2012 revisions and much more. The entire FSC community has been busy this year.
As we look ahead to 2012, there is no break in the action. For the first time in our history, we will begin directly engaging consumers, which we view as crucial to our mission of ensuring forest stewardship. We will continue to engage with the U.S. Green Building Council to promote high standards for wood in LEED 2012. And we will grow our efforts to bring new supply into the FSC marketplace, especially in the Southeastern US, to keep up with the remarkable increase in demand. These efforts are the tip of the iceberg.
As a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, FSC relies on support from our stakeholders. As 2011 winds to a close, please consider the Forest Stewardship Council in any year-end donations. We truly appreciate your support. And best wishes for a healthy, prosperous holiday season.
