Northland Forest Products, FSC economic chamber member since 1999

Partner Profile

Northland Forest Products is a processor, distributor, and exporter of North American Hardwoods and Eastern Softwoods. Founded in 1970 by Robert L.V. French and presently run by his son Jameson French, the company operates two lumber concentration and distribution yards in Kingston, New Hampshire and Troy, Virginia. The facilities process a broad mix of species from certified forests in the Northeast and Appalachian regions. NFP also has a retail outlet in Manassas, Virginia and offices in Massachusetts, Vermont, and China.

NFP encourages its employees to participate on local and regional levels with organizations that promote land conservation, environmental education, and responsible forest management. This includes local conservation commissions, Project Learning Tree, The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, The Society of American Foresters and The New England Forestry Foundation.

Several times a year, Mr. French is asked to speak to landowner and industry groups about certification in the U.S. and around the globe. Northland has been a staunch supporter of FSC since they were certified. In fact, since 1995, they have been using quotes like “We in the hardwood industry need to emphasize our long involvement in land management and protection, to promote friendships with those who enjoy the forest, to take pride in responsible stewardship, and to work harder to become a more environmentally conscious industry" in their advertising.

FSC is proud to call Northland a partner, and we look forward to working with them in the future.
