Welcome New FSC US Regional Managers!

FSC US is excited to welcome two new team members! Kaylyn Glenn and Alex Thoman joined the FSC US team as Regional Managers for the Southeast and Pacific Northwest, respectively.

Kaylyn Glenn
Kaylyn is the Southeast Regional Manager for the Forest Stewardship Council US, bringing years of experience in sustainable forestry, landowner engagement, and certification systems. A multigenerational Floridian from a family deeply tied to agriculture and working the land, she understands the unique dynamics of Southeastern forests, where a mix of privately owned and industrial lands shape both economic and conservation landscapes. She is passionate about helping landowners navigate certification, ensuring working forests remain economically viable, ecologically resilient, and positioned for long-term success.

Before joining FSC US, Kaylyn served as Manager of Forestry Programs at Enviva, where she worked directly with forest landowners, stakeholders, and conservation partners across the Southeast to implement responsible sourcing policies and promote certification adoption. She led efforts to ensure compliance with FSC and SFI standards, engaged with landowners to improve access to certification, and helped develop strategies for responsible biomass sourcing. Her work also focused on advancing ecosystem services, including longleaf pine restoration and carbon sequestration initiatives.

She also served as Land Protection Manager at Conservation Florida, where she led conservation transactions, easements, and strategic partnerships to protect Florida’s working forests while aligning sustainability goals with landowner needs. Earlier in her career, she worked with Weyerhaeuser’s Southern Timberlands, gaining valuable experience in timberland management, procurement, and market development.

Kaylyn studied Forest Resources and Conservation at the University of Florida and Forests and Climate Change at Oregon State University, deepening her expertise in sustainable forestry and land management. She has extensive experience working with landowners, industry professionals, and policymakers to advance certification, conservation, and responsible land management.

Outside of work, you’ll find Kaylyn backpacking, python hunting, or exploring Florida’s wild places with her son and daughter—raising the next generation to love and respect the land as much as she does.

Alex Thoman
Alex Thoman serves as the Pacific Northwest Regional Manager for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), where he is dedicated to building strong relationships with both current and prospective certificate holders. His role focuses on driving certification growth, enhancing the value for certificate holders, and maintaining a knowledge of FSC-certified operations throughout the region.

Before joining FSC, Alex gained valuable experience as a private industry forester, where he managed timberlands throughout Northern California. His background in forest management provides him with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the industry.

Born and raised in Northern California, Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Humboldt State University. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and contributing to conservation efforts.
