FSC US/Etifor Verified Impact Webinar Series Starts February 4

FSC US and Etifor are hosting a webinar series designed to help forest managers and sponsors understand the current state of play for markets for ecosystem services with a focus on demand-side integrity and supply-side quality. The series is structured around 3 “knowledge pills” including the fundamentals of climate and nature risk and the responsible use of environmental impact certificates, the updated ES Procedure impact demonstration process, and the value propositions and use cases of Verified Impact claims for the private sector with concrete examples.

RSVP for one or all of the series.

SESSION 1: Introduction to Verified Impact: FSC in the Climate & Biodiversity Crisis
This session will provide the foundations for a shared understanding of the climate and biodiversity crises, the policy and voluntary response, and the role of FSC Verified Impact in helping organizations engage proactively in their forest operations and forest product value chains. Attendees can expect to become familiar with the ways in which nature risks manifest in the real economy with a focus on the forestry sector and how policymakers, investors, and the private sector are responding, underlining the need for rigorous, third-party verified environmental impact data through FSC Verified Impact.

SESSION 2: Generating Verified Impact as a Certificate Holder
This session will focus on landowners and forest managers – from smallholders to large, productive concessions – to provide practical, operational guidance on applying the Ecosystem Service Procedure and generating Verified Impacts. Attendees will learn how to integrate ecosystem services into their business strategy, identify opportunities in their forests, develop a theory of change, select outcome indicators, and demonstrate their positive impacts on carbon removals, biodiversity uplift, water resource restoration, and more. The session will also include updates on the recent release of the ESP V2.

SESSION 3: The Critical Role Sponsors Play in Verified Impact
The final session of the series is aimed primarily at those who are interested in sponsoring Verified Impacts, including forest product retailers and end-users. Attendees will leave the session more informed about the mitigation hierarchy, corporate and financial target-setting and disclosure standards including SBTN and TNFD, and the potential use cases and value propositions of FSC Verified Impacts for demonstrating progress toward climate- and nature-related targets, including value chain engagement and contribution claims.
