2024 Board of Directors Election Update: Social Chamber Nominations Reopened
The initial nomination period for the FSC US Board of Directors failed to yield any candidates for the Social Chamber nomination. To maintain equitable representation across all three chambers—Environmental, Economic, and Social—the FSC US Board of Directors has decided to reopen nominations specifically for the Social Chamber.
Why it Matters:
A strong Social Chamber is crucial for FSC US to make informed decisions that benefit all stakeholders, including workers, indigenous communities, and local residents impacted by forestry practices.
Key Dates:
- Nomination Period: Nominations for the Social Chamber reopened on August 7th and will close on August 21st at 9 am EST.
- Meet the Candidates Call: Scheduled via Zoom on Monday, September 9th. Invitations will be sent to all members soon.
- Voting Period: Voting will run from August 27th at 9 am EST to September 17th at 9 am EST. Only FSC members are eligible to participate.
This is a critical opportunity for FSC members to nominate or step forward as candidates for the Social Chamber, ensuring diverse and effective representation within FSC US.
