The Climate Smart Wood Group is Hiring

Currently, buildings are responsible for 40% of global carbon emissions. The Climate Smart Wood Group, a national collaboration of responsible forest management and wood products organizations, focuses on the contributions that forests and forest products can make in reducing these emissions.

The goal of the Climate Smart Wood Group is to help the construction industry in North America procure climate-smart wood products, and to support and advance climate-smart forestry. While there is strong and growing interest in wood-based construction as a climate solution, project teams frequently need support understanding which products are climate smart, and how to procure them on time and within budget.

The Climate Smart Wood Group is overseen by the following organizations:

  • Carbon Leadership Forum
  • Ecotrust
  • Forest Stewardship Council
  • Magnusson Klemencic Associates
  • Northwest Natural Resource Group
  • Sustainable Northwest
  • Washington Environmental Council
  • World Wildlife Fund

The Climate Smart Wood Group is now hiring a Project Manager to help grow the initiative. This position offers the opportunity to engage leaders looking to transform the building industry.

The Project Manager role is a part-time contract position that is fully funded through 2023. To learn more and apply, please see the position description here.
