Support for New Pesticide Policy Implementation

FSC US will be supporting certificate holders as they move to implement the new pesticide policy. In particular, FSC will develop Environmental and Social Risk Assessments (ESRA) by May 2020.
A revised list of highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) and the associated Environmental and Social Risk Assessment (ESRA) constitute the primary policy changes.
FSC Staff aim to complete national-level ESRAs for some common HHPs. To facilitate 2020 contracting, priority is given to completing draft ESRAs by early 2020 for pesticides that are applied in late summer (i.e., post August 1st).
