FSC Friday 2014: Join the celebrations!
August 19, 2014
FSC Friday is our annual celebration of responsible forest management, happening this year on Friday, September 26th. The event first began in the UK in 2008 and has been growing every year. Last year more than 23,000 people took part in FSC Friday events in 27 countries around the world, from Poland to Peru and Canada and the United States. Take a look at the website for more information.
Please support FSC Friday any way you can – just adding a news story to your website or posting to social media (#FSCFriday2014) is a great way to be a part of the celebration! Logos and other designs are available from FSC US or by contacting FSC International at fscfriday at fsc point org.
“We always love to celebrate FSC Friday – it’s educational and great for staff morale!” said Leah Fitch, of FSC-certified company Cyan Group Ltd.
Peter Archibald, of Central Windsor Scouts, has run FSC Friday events in the past. “Only one of the participants had heard of FSC before our event,” he said, “but they all now have a good awareness and understanding of the work of FSC. I can think of no better way to engage young people with the importance of carrying their values and beliefs into everyday decisions, like choosing fair and sustainable products.”
