Green Sports Alliance Summit in June
May 14, 2019
On June 19-20, the Green Sports Alliance will host its annual Summit, the largest and most influential gathering for the sports community to unite around sustainability. Held in Philadelphia this year, the event brings together hundreds of industry stakeholders to learn and share better practices and the latest innovations in greening operations, advancing the supply chain and engaging fans, including around use of Forest Stewardship Council certified products. More than 600 professional and collegiate sports teams, leagues and venues are members of the Alliance.
Recently, the Alliance partnered with the Forest Stewardship Council and Environmental Paper Network to develop a Paper Use Playbook, which was sponsored by Kimberly-Clark. The Playbook is a practical guide for sports organizations – and any other organization that uses significant quantities of paper products – to use paper more responsibly.
FSC, the Environmental Paper Network and Kimberly-Clark recently participated in a webinar with the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council about developing and implementing plans for responsible paper use.
We encourage all organizations interested in engaging with professional and collegiate sports to participate in the Summit, which offers excellent opportunities for networking, education, and business development. For more information, please visit the Summit website.
