Greenpeace Canada Supports Responsible Forestry Standard

In June, FSC Canada celebrated the first anniversary of their new responsible forest management standard. This new standard has received strong support from FSC partners like Chantiers Chibougamau (a 2019 FSC Leadership Award winner) and Procter & Gamble, and prominent NGO’s including Greenpeace Canada and NRDC.
Chantiers Chibougamau has already transitioned 2.4 million hectares of forest to the new standard, and Procter and Gamble continues to support FSC through their sourcing of FSC-certified fiber for their paper products.
Environmental organizations including Greenpeace Canada and NRDC also continue to be strong supporters of FSC. Recognizing that this is no time for “business as usual”, Greenpeace Canada supports FSC Canada’s new responsible forest management standard, as it uniquely protects Indigenous rights, local communities, and wildlife.
