Election Results – Welcome, Mike Houser

September 4, 2019

Mike Houser, Manager for Certification and Environment for PotlachDeltic Corporation, was newly elected to the Economic Chamber. He has been with Potlach for 23 years and has developed, implemented, and managed company-wide systems for FSC forest management, chain of custody and controlled wood. Mike is a certified wildlife biologist with degrees in Wildlife and Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a master’s degree in Natural Resources from Humboldt State University. Read Mike’s full biography and position statement (link).

We are also excited to welcome back Shoana Humphries (Social Chamber) and Brent Davies (Environmental Chamber):

  • Shoana appreciates the opportunity to continue representing the Social Chamber on the FSC US Board of Directors. Advancing the Social Chamber engagement strategy and ensuring Social stakeholders’ interests are addressed in the revised Forest Management standard are among her top priorities. She looks forward to working with her Board colleagues and FSC members over the next three years on these and other important issues.
  • Brent Davies is excited to continue helping FSC grow its membership and certified forest area through partnership building and improving our ability to quantify the environmental benefits of FSC. She is exploring the application of FSC’s new Ecosystem Services procedure on tribal forestland in the Pacific Northwest, to benefit both certificate holders and mass timber-oriented builders.
