Big news on the US retail front - thanks to to company commitment, along with efforts by the FSC US team, starting on February 25, Target switched to using FSC paper for its Weekly Ad printed circular.

According to Rick Gomez, Target executive vice president and chief marketing officer: "Target is proud to be the first major U.S. retailer to move a printed circular to FSC-certified paper, it's one way we're doing our part to support responsible forest management and help protect forests for future generations."

As to next steps, Target is working toward FSC certification for many of its products and brands, which the retailer considers an important step toward achieving its 2022 owned brand forest product goals. For example, Target's Spritz brand will be 100% FSC-certified by the end of 2018.

Further, FSC US is working with Target to improve its guests' ability to search for and find FSC-certified products, both in-store and online. In fact, today Target offers shoppers a wide variety of FSC-certified products across a number of departments, including beauty, home and food & beverage. You can see all available FSC-certified retailers and products in our free consumer guide to forest-friendly products.
