Carbon Friendly Forestry Conference October 26-27
With growing emphasis on forests as natural climate solutions, Washington Environmental Council (WEC) is hosting its fifth annual Carbon Friendly Forestry Conference virtually on October 26-27.
This year’s conference includes presentations and conversations on topics such as community wildfire preparedness, urban forestry, Indigenous stewardship, carbon markets, forest-related legislation, and more. With this breadth of topics, the event hopes to encourage management that looks beyond a single objective, recognizing the complexity and interconnectedness of forest ecosystems and our relationships with them. As the climate crisis intensifies, WEC continue to explore and support both innovative and traditional approaches to ecological forestry, learning from the lived experiences of all of Washington’s communities.
