Chain of Custody Standard Public Consultation - Round 2

On September 1, 2015, FSC International launched the second round of public consultation on the revised Chain of Custody Standard (FSC-STD-40-004). This comment period will remain open until October 31, 2015.
All stakeholders are encouraged to comment on this next draft of the revised standard, as stakeholder participation and feedback is essential to the revision process. This second draft incorporates changes based upon the feedback from stakeholders during the first round of consultation. Following this public comment period, the draft will be further refined based on the comments and feedback received. Some of the notable changes in this draft include:
- Classification of pre-consumer reclaimed paper as a claim-contributing input
- Transaction verification
- Shared Credit Accounting
- Reduction of labeling threshold for FSC Recycled label
- Clarification of credit system requirements
- Incorporation of advice notes and standard interpretations

To help encourage deeper discussions and comments on this second draft of the COC standard, FSC US has convened the Chain of Custody Technical Advisory Group (COC TAG) made up of experts from a variety of chambers and industry sectors to help determine a North American perspective on this second draft and this information can be found in the FSC US Report on Draft 2-0 Chain of Custody Standard (available for download below).
